One wounded in police station attack in Turkey's Şırnak

The head of a counter-terrorism branch has been wounded after suffering injuries from explosives that were hurled at his police station in the southeastern province of Şırnak’s Silopi district earlier this morning, according to Anadolu Agency.The explosives, including a Molotov cocktail, were thrown at the directorate building’s front yard before exploding. Pieces of the material hit branch head A.Y., injuring him in different parts of his body.
A.Y. received initial medical assistance at the state hospital in Silopi before he was transferred to Cizre State Hospital. Police chiefs from Şırnak and Cizre visited the wounded security official at the Cizre hospital.
An operation was launched in the area to identify the suspects behind the attack.
