Turkey airlifts 21 more Palestinians for treatment

A Turkish aircraft will evacuate 21 more Palestinians wounded in Gaza to Turkey on Aug. 20, raising the number of Gazans being treated in Turkish hospitals to 46.

The military aircraft departed from Ankara for Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport early on Aug. 20 and will arrive later in the evening, Anadolu Agency reported.      

Turkay Esin, an official from Turkey’s Health Ministry, said they would go to Israel with 11 doctors and health officials to accompany the injured Palestinians and their companions.

Some 25 Palestinians were transferred to Turkey for treatment last week.
