Turkish Airlines registered 164 million Turkish Liras in the first six months of 2012, a 142 percent increase from the same period in 2011, according to the company’s announcement.The national carrier’s sales were also up 36 percent in the same period to 6.7 billion liras.
“When we look at our traffic results, we achieved a 20 percent increase in our passenger numbers in the first half of the year, reaching 18 million passengers … Our passenger capacity rate was also up 5.7 points to 75.2 percent,” the announcement said.
Turkish Airlines added eight new international destinations to its roster in the first half of the year, bringing its total number of international destinations 157.
