The National Security Council (MGK) convened yesterday for the first time since the crisis sparked by a prosecutor’s attempt to investigate the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) as Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan returned to Ankara after a two-week absence.MİT Chief Hakan Fidan, one of the five officials the prosecutor targeted on suspicion of collaboration with Kurdish separatists, was among the officials whom Erdoğan met for about two hours ahead of the MGK gathering.
