Obama’s secret

To be frank, Barack Obama’s job was not an easy one. Despite all conspiracy theories all around the world, the American voters, like almost all others, do not exercise their votes primarily based on the foreign policy preferences of the government, but on the economic benefits they get out of the system.

Right after Obama started his tenure as the president of the United States, a major financial crisis hit the country; it is still shaking Europe. Combined with the high labor competition from China, the economic crisis cost the U.S. and Obama 2.5 million jobless people. Many among the Wall Street Occupiers had probably voted for Obama. Republicans did their best in order to stop him from delivering on his promise on health reform, a social justice breakthrough by American standards. But similar to his promise to withdraw American invasion forces from Iraq, he did not step back and kept his health reform promise. Another promise was the anti-terrorism struggle. Despite bitter criticism, the U.S. commando operation in Pakistan killing al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was a turning point.

Perhaps women, African Americans and Hispanic Americans, members of the LBGT community and many other others saw him as a hope to lead them to a new America, instead of the existing old one.

In the end, he managed to be the second Democratic president of the U.S. since World War II to keep his chair for a second term; the first one being Bill Clinton, who gave full support to his campaign.

Perhaps, in return, Obama will support Hillary Clinton’s campaign to be the first woman president in four years’ time.

It was taken right after Obama and his family took the stage for his victory speech. As he started to salute his supporters, the Obamas’ little daughter, Sasha, gently touched her father to say something.

Instead of a secretive “later” glance because of the intensity of the moment, Obama stopped and wanted to hear what she had to say. She said something like “back.” Obama paused and then turned his back to salute the voters sitting at the back part of the hall. With a glance, this young lady had seen and sympathized with those sitting behind the stage and wanted to warn her father not to ignore them unintentionally; it was great to watch the whole scene.
