George Papandreou can also ruin us

The situation in Greece is heart breaking.
Billions of dollars of European financial assistance has been given to this country since the 1980s.
The country has reached an unbelievable level of development. Its people became richer. They came to a welfare point envied by us all.
Yet all this was achieved by wasting all the money coming from Europe.
All the administrations that have come to power since Andreas Papandreou have wasted the money.
Increase of welfare did not happen by Greeks working night and day, but by deceiving the European Union.
Actually the EU and the banks knew Greece could not continue like this but preferred to ignore it.
But from now on, Greeks will live with a strained economy and austerity measures.
The whole political bill of the default has been put on the shoulders of George Papandreou. And he just could not resist anymore and decided to put the package of “austerity measures” to referendum. This time it was the EU that reacted.
Because a referendum means the EU crisis is getting bigger, turbulence in foreign exchange rates and the start of a process that could go as far as to dismantle the eurozone.
Thank God he reversed his decision at the last minute and everybody, including us, was saved from a disaster. But this is not over yet. We should be prepared.
