Man attempts suicide in front of Turkish Parliament

The Turkish Parliament witnessed a unique incident April 18 as a man attempted suicide in the garden of the complex in Ankara. As the man pulled out his gun and then put it to his temple, security officers rushed to intervene.Although the officers managed to stop him, catching him by the arm, a shot was fired from the gun. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The 44-year-old man, identified as Murat Akça, was brought to Ankara's police department and taken into custody. Police then discovered that the gun was in fact loaded with blanks.
