Jay Jay Johanson on Bronx stage
ISTANBUL
Swedish singer-songwriter Jay Jay Johanson brings his melancholy vocals to Bronx tonight at 11:30 p.m. His music had been integrated into the trip hop genre until he switched to a more electroclash-oriented sound with his 2003 album Antenna, featuring “On the Radio.” In the spring of 2006, he gathered musicians he had worked with on his three first albums for a collaboration that resulted in the January 2007 release “The Long Term Physical Effects Are Not Yet Known.” A tour to promote the album kicked off in China and continued to more than 30 cities around the world. Johanson has worked with a variety of artists and co-wrote and contributed vocals to The Knife’s 2006 song “Marble House.”
