Gov’t to incite firms to invest in Tunisa
TUNIS - Anatolia News Agency
The government is set to encourage Turkish firms to invest in Tunisia, said Turkey’s Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan, during a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart yesterday.“Turkey is ready to cooperate in every area, including trade and tourism,” he said at the meeting with Mohamed Lamine Chakhari, Tunisian Minister of Industry and Trade.
Turkey’s Eximbank will support the Tunisian investors, who will purchase machinery from Turkey for their investments in Tunisa, providing $500 million in loans for them with a 10 year-term, Çağlayan said.
The total bilateral trade volume of $1.1 billion is far away from reflecting the fraternity of the two countries, he said.
“We have come with a large group of businessmen. This indicates our increased attention toward Tunis,” Çağlayan said.
“We have a deep, common history. The bond between our two countries is based on this history. Sometimes artificial difficulties are created, but no obstacle can break our bond.”
