The market share of Beşiktaş Futbol Yatırımları (Beşiktaş Football Investments) dropped 11.4 percent
today following chaotic scenes in the previous night’s Beşiktaş-Galatasaray derby that forced the suspension of the match in injury time.

The company’s value fell to 484.4 million Turkish Liras, a loss of 62.4 million liras, while its shares were trading at 2.02 liras. By contrast, the company was trading at 2.28 liras at the end of last week on Sept. 20.

The game was called off by referee Fırat Aydınus with two additional minutes remaining in injury time after Beşiktaş supporters staged a pitch invasion. Both teams left the field for the dressing room as the crowd began to throw chairs onto the field. Aydınus made the decision to suspend the match. The incidents started after Aydınus sent off Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo late in the second half, precipitating scuffles between supporters and security personnel. Galatasaray was leading 2-1 at the time with a brace from Ivorian star Didier Drogba.

Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş.’s shares, meanwhile, climbed to 26.9 liras, a 2.6 percent rise, in morning trading, but closed the day with 0.38 rise.
