World puppets in İzmir
İZMİR
The 9th İzmir International Puppet Days kicked in the western province on March 5.This year, 40 puppet theater groups will perform 42 shows in 27 different venues within the festival program. Four exhibitions, one from Slovenia and another from Bulgaria, will host art lovers.
Argentinean, Irish, Israeli and Canadian artists will hold workshops for professional stage artists and share their knowledge with them. Exciting hours will also be experienced during the 7th Forum Bornova Puppet Show Contest for elementary schools, which is one of the most important traditions of the cultural and artistic life of İzmir.
In the contest, 25 participating schools will perform the internationally-known “Cinderella,” a famous piece from Charles Perrault.
The festival will take place in 38 different venues, including culture centers, schools, movie theaters and shopping malls, through March 22.
