Woman’s dead body found in suitcase in Istanbul

The body of an unidentified woman was found in a suitcase in Istanbul on Feb. 9.The body, which had been cut into pieces, was found with women’s clothes and a towel in a suitcase in the Maltepe district of the city. It was taken to the Istanbul Forensic Institute for medical examination after a three-hour investigation at the scene by Istanbul Police Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit officers and prosecutors.
Two people in the area collecting paper and paper products for recycling reportedly spotted the suitcase at a livestock bazaar in Maltepe’s Cevizli neighborhood on the afternoon of Feb. 9 and reported it to police.
