Volkan Konak at Cemil Topuzlu stage
Tonight’s concert starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available at biletix.com.
Volkan Konak, the voice of the Black Sea, takes the stage at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu open air theater in Istanbul tonight. He began his musical life in 1987 with the album “Suların Horon Yeri,” a collection of the works of Trabzon, where he was born and raised. Konak initially combined music styles with the works of valuable poets such as Sunay Akın, Ömer Yaşar Mirac, and Nazım Hikmet. By adding ethnic tunes to his music composition, he began to define his own unique style, which he first showed off in his 1991 album “Efulim.” The same year, a number of journalistic societies, cultural and political magazines and associations awarded him the title of “Artist of the Year.” Tonight’s concert starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available at biletix.com.
