Vodafone Turkey CEO steps down
ISTANBUL
Vodafone Turkey CEO Gökhan Öğüt has stepped down, the company said in a written statement late Aug. 22, adding that Vodafone Italy Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Colman Deegan would replace him.Öğüt will leave the company as of Oct. 19 after seven years in Vodafone Turkey to assess new career opportunities in other companies, according to the statement.
Deegan, who will start his new job in September, will be responsible to Serpil Timuray, former Vodafone Turkey CEO and now the Vodafone Group’s Africa, Middle East, Asia and Pacific (AMAP) CEO. Timuray will also act as Vodafone Turkey Chair, the statement noted.
Timuray said that the company would continue to make investments in Turkey, adding that the number of Vodafone subscribers exceeded 22.4 million over this year.
Deegan has been CFO of Italy Operations at Vodafone Group since January 2014. He served as the CFO of Indian Operations at Vodafone Group from 2011 to 2014, according to the statement. He was a banker in Ireland before joining Vodafone in 1998.
