The manager of third league Çorum Belediyespor rented a lifting crane to watch his team’s playoff game, after he was banned from entering the stadium.Çorum Belediyespor was ordered May 7 by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) to close its stadium for a game as punishment, while Hamit Işık, the club’s manager, was banned for 258 days.
Unwilling to observe the punishment, Işık brought a lifting crane he had rented to an alley near the stadium and watched the game from the crane’s basket.
Meanwhile, supporters of the team convened in front of the stadium and watched the game on a giant screen installed by the team’s management. Loudspeakers were affixed to the baskets of cranes to create a more dynamic atmosphere.
Çorum Belediyespor faced Darıca Gençlerbirliği in the home game, the first match of a playoff for promotion to the second league. The game ended in a goalless draw.
