Vestel jumps in Istanbul after profit surges

Vestel Beyaz added 9 kurus, or 6 percent to 1.58 Turkish Liras at the end of the first session at the Istanbul Stock Exchange, the highest level in six months. The company said net income increased to 11.5 million liras from 3.1 million liras in the first quarter of last year, according to a filing with the exchange late on April 30. The exchange was closed May 1 for a public holiday.
