Vatican awards Turkish actor Murat Yıldırım

The Vatican has presented a cinema award to Turkish actor Murat Yıldırım in a ceremony attended by the actor and his wife, daily Hürriyet reported.

The International Giuseppe Sciacca Award was handed to Yıldırım this year by Italian actress Emanuela Tintocchia.

The Guiseppe Sciacca Awards are given for a variety of achievements in different fields such as cinema, art, economy and sports.

Yıldırım said he felt very proud of receiving the award and of seeing the global attention given to Turkish television series.
