VAR changes 29 decisions in 8 weeks of Turkish league

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system changed 29 decisions in the first eight weeks of Turkish football league.
In Turkey's Spor Toto Super Lig, 11 goals were denied and eight direct red cards were given using the VAR system.
With the help of the VAR, four decisions of denying goals were corrected, four penalty decisions were changed and two penalties were given.
On Sunday, when VAR system broke down for couple of minutes in Fenerbahce-Medipol Basaksehir match, the referee disallowed Basaksehir's goal due to controversial off-side position.
Galatasaray come out ahead in match week 8 in the league with 18 points, followed by Medipol Basaksehir, Besiktas and Kasimpasa with 15 points each.
Fenerbahce with 8 points stayed in 15th place in the league, 10 points away from the leader.
