‘Valley of the Wolves’ actor expresses support for Morsi

Turkish actor Necati Şaşmaz, the famed lead character in the popular television series “Kurtlar Vadisi” (Valley of the Wolves), has expressed support for Egypt’s ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, and his supporters.

Şaşmaz, known as “Murat Alemdar” in the Arab world, condemned last week’s violent massacre in Egypt that claimed hundreds of lives.

“I appreciate your resistance for freedom and democracy. I believe that you will continue to protest patiently to demand real freedom and democracy,” Şaşmaz said in remarks directed at Egyptians.

“Some foreign forces have their own pawns and are using them against Muslim countries. I believe that you will not be deceived by them,” Şaşmaz said.
