Vakıfbank advances to finals in top volleyball league

Turkish women's volleyball team Vakıfbank advanced to the final of the CEV Champions League for the seventh time on May 5, after beating the Italian team Imoco.
The Vakıf team led the game 1-0 by scoring 25-22 in the first round and maintained its lead 2-0 by 25-21 in the second set.
The last two sets were won by the Italian team Imoco, when it scored 25-17 and 25-15, bringing the game score to 2-2.
In the final tie breaking game, Vakıf team again took the lead from Imoco and won 3-2.
Vakıfbank team has now advanced to the final which will be played on May 6 against the winner of CSM Volei Alba vs Galatasaray match, in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.
The Turkish team has won the Champions League in 2011, 2013 and 2017.
