A U.S. warship that ran aground in the Black Sea passed through the Dardanelles Strait April 22.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier this month accused Turkey and the United States of violating the Montreux Convention, claiming the USS Taylor stayed in the Black Sea for more than 21 days.
In response, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said the ship was grounded last month due to propeller damage which occurred while entering the port of Samsun. The ship was then towed to the Greek port of Crete for repairs.
