UN to write book on Cyprus issue

The United Nations will write a book on the Cyprus issue titled “White Book” if the two sides of the island cannot reach an agreement during their second meeting in New York. 

The book will look at all issues since the 1960s when the U.N. was on the island to protect the Turkish community from Greek attacks.It will examine developments regarding the Cyprus issue, including the stance of both the Turkish and Greek sides of the island, and the negotiation processes initiated under the auspices of the U.N. in Beirut in 1963. The book will be compiled using the framework as laid out by a recent statement by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon referring to the move as the “end of the game,” following a recent trilateral summit.
