Two Turkish soldiers killed in blast in northern Iraq: Military
ANKARA
Two Turkish soldiers were killed and two were wounded late on Oct. 16 in northern Iraq in a blast caused by an improvised explosive device planted by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants, the armed forces said on Oct. 17.
It said the Turkish air forces subsequently carried out air strikes in the Zap region of northern Iraq, killing eight PKK militants.
The military said the incident was separate from another blast earlier on Oct. 16 in northern Iraq in which two soldiers were killed.
