Two-day film event also hosts Turkish musicians

The Golden Almond Film Festival will be held next month in the southwestern province of Muğla’s Datça district.It is set to be the sixth edition of the festival, which will once again host famous actors, directors and actresses between the dates of Sept. 4 and 6. This year the festival’s guest of honor will be Tunç Başaran, while Sadri Alışık will also be commemorated at the festival. Singers such as Emel Sayın, Can Bonomo and Soner Olgun are also set to give concerts at the festival. The first event will take place with the attendance of actress Filix Akın, and will host the award ceremony of Umur Bugay, before singer Emel Sayın gives a concert.
The second day of the festival will commemorate veteran actor Sadri Alışık, featuring scenes on the screen from among Alışık’s famous movies. The same night Can Bonomo, who represented Turkey at this year’s Eurovision, will take the stage.
On the last day of the festival, director Tunç Başaran will appear as the guest of honor, and he will receive an honorary award. Turkish folk singer Soner Olgun will take the stage for a concert to close the festival, and there will be documentary and film screenings during the course of the night.
