Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in northern Iraq

Turkish warplanes conducted simultaneous airstrikes against outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions in the Şemdinli district of the southeastern province of Hakkari and northern Iraq on May 10.The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said the airstrikes were conducted in the Avaşin/Basyan regions in northern Iraq between 8 and 9 a.m.
Another air operation was launched against the PKK in rural Şemdinli at the same time.
A total of 11 PKK militants were killed in the airstrikes.
The jets returned to their bases in Turkey after the operation.
