An Istanbul court ruled today to wait for the fourth judicial reform package in the case of the shooting of singer İbrahim Tatlıses, as “it can affect the verdicts in favor of suspects.”The court board ruled to extend the suspects’ detention on remand although all the suspects once again denied the allegations.
Assailants fired on Tatlıses with assault rifles on March 14, 2011, while he was leaving a television studio, wounding him in the head.
A total of 12 suspects, seven of whom are imprisoned, were apprehended by the police after the attack and claimed to have acted on orders from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
