Turkish runners hope to repeat Helsinki feat

Turkey’s European champion runner Aslı Çakır Alptekin hopes to book her place in the women’s 1500m final in the Olympic Games on Aug 10. AFP photo

Turkish middle-distance runners Aslı Çakır Alptekin and Gamze Bulut will participate to the women’s 1500m semifinals, hoping to advance to the finals. Alptekin and Bulut completed a one-two finish at the European Championships in Helsinki earlier this summer.
