Turkish PM slams Trump’s threat on cutting fund to countries over UN Jerusalem vote
ANKARA
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on Dec. 21 slammed U.S. President Donald Trump over his threat to cut funding to countries that would vote against Washington on a motion at the U.N. condemning the U.S.’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“The U.S. was left alone among 14 members during the voting at the U.N. Security Council and came to a point to threaten countries that would vote against the U.S. as its last resort,” Yıldırım said, noting that the U.S. president seemed to have let things go off the rails by saying, “If you vote against the U.S. we will not give you money, mind your step.”
