Turkish PM meets opposition leaders over downed jet

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan convened today with the leaders of Turkey's opposition parties over the downing of a Turkish jet by Syria on June 22.Leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli arrived at the residence of the prime minister at 4 p.m.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar were also present at the meeting between Erdoğan and Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, which took place earlier today.
Erdoğan has invited the leaders of parties in the Turkish Parliament for deliberations over the incident. Kılıçdaroğlu and two other CHP deputies arrived at the residence of the prime minister at around 2 p.m.
Kılıçdaroğlu said they had questions to ask the prime minister, including, "Why have Turkey and Syria had come to the brink of war?"
