Turkish PM Gaza visit ‘after deal’: Palestinian envoy
İZMİR – Anatolia News Agency
Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara Nebil Maruf said that they expected Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Gaza visit after reaching a consensus among Palestinian groups.“We will be pleased no matter when he comes or which city he visits,” Maruf said during a visit to İzmir Governorship, referring to Erdoğan’s statement that he would visit Gaza. “As you know we have ‘internal problems.’ We expect this visit [of Erdoğan] to happen after we reach a consensus.” Maruf said the problems would be solved during a mini Arab summit in Cairo this month.
Erdoğan had said he would probably visit Gaza after his trip to Washington to meet U.S. President Barack Obama on May 16.
