Turkish man dies after falling into hot liquid asphalt
SAKARYA
A man in the western Turkish province of Sakarya has died horrifically after falling down into hot asphalt in liquid form, Demirören News Agency reported.
Ahmet Bahşi, the driver of a municipality tanker, arrived at a construction site in the Erenler Küpçüler neighborhood with the load of asphalt late Aug. 9.
Bahşi fell down into the narrow space between two vessels in which he tried to transfer the asphalt in the tanker with a hose. He was buried under scorching hot liquid asphalt instantly.
Bahşi was taken to a hospital by construction workers with severe burns but he could not be saved.
Police launched an investigation into the incident, the agency reported.
