Turkish gov’t vows to reduce tax hike on motor vehicles to ‘reasonable level’
ANKARA
Turkey will reduce a planned 40 percent tax hike on motor vehicles to a “reasonable level,” government spokesperson Bekir Bozdağ said late on Oct. 2 after a cabinet meeting.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the weekend that the proposed tax increase would be reviewed, just days after it was announced last week by Finance Minister Naci Ağbal at a presentation of the government’s annual update of its medium-term economic program.
