The governor’s office in the northern province of Amasya has released a statement calling on its personnel to increase the institution’s followers on social media.“It was previously stated that our governor’s office has assumed its place on social media,” Amasya Gov. İbrahim Halil Çomaktekin said in a statement sent today.
“However, it was understood that it does not have enough followers. I ask your institutions to follow the [governor’s office’s] Twitter and Facebook accounts and announce it to institution personnel,” said the statement addressed to Amasya’s district offices and other public institutions.
After the statement leaked onto the web, interest in the Amasya Governor’s Office soared, with its Twitter account attracting around 1,000 followers, compared to fewer than 100 when the statement was written.
