Turkish airline Pegasus carried a total of 22.34 million passengers in 2015, a 13.2 percent increase from the previous year, the airline announced in a written statement on Jan. 30. 

The number of domestic flight passengers rose by 15.4 percent to 13.81 million and of foreign flight passengers by 9.8 percent to 8.52 million in 2015 compared to the previous year. 

Pegasus thus grew its share in the domestic market to 28.3 percent and in the foreign flights market to 9.8 percent, according to the statement. 

The load factor however decreased by 0.9 percent to 79 percent in 2015 compared to 2014.

The airline reached 103 destinations across 40 countries last year, according to the statement.

“Despite some problems in air traffic and harsh geopolitical conditions, we gave services to over 22 million people, closing a difficult year with success. We also hit an operational record by surpassing a significant threshold, namely 20 million passengers,” said Pegasus Airlines General Manager Sertaç Haybat. 

Pegasus also made a total of 152,213 flights, increasing its performance by 14.2 percent in 2015 compared to 2014.
