Turkish and German national airlines to collaborate

German Chancellor Angela Merkel proposed Turkish Airlines and Germany's Lufthansa cooperate during Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent visit to Germany, daily Hürriyet reported today.

"'Let's have Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines work together,' Merkel suggested to me during my Germany visit," Erdoğan reportedly said. "I said OK."

"There is already [a plan] as a part of our projects, and I hope we can take a cooperative step for Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, we will," Erdoğan added.
