The order includes two of the increased take-off weight version of the A330-200, which offers an extended flying range of up to 7,200 nautical miles, and five A330-300s, the most cost-effective aircraft in its class, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Turkish Airlines will use the aircraft on their regional and long-haul routes with deliveries scheduled from Aug. 2010.

No financial details regarding the deal were provided. The A330 aircraft are worth $180.9 million each on the basis of Airbus's list price.

Turkish Airlines already operates 67 Airbus aircraft, including seven A330s.

Turkish Airlines will also buy seven Boeing B777-300ER, the state-run Anatolian Agency quoted the airlines as saying.
