Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate head Mehmet Görmez signed the 2013 protocol regarding hajj rites during his visit to Saudi Arabia, an official statement released on Feb.27 has said.The protocol focused on the improvement of hajj conditions, including hygiene and entries to the country, as well as innovative ideas on how to make the ritual more efficient.
Görmez underlined the need for better accommodation and water during the rites, calling for a better, cleaner environment for the pilgrims.
Görmez and Hajj Minister Muhammed Haccar also talked about the pilgrims’ boarding of planes and easing the loading of their possessions onto planes.
The planned changes aim to ease the journey to the religious site, according to the statement.
