Turkey’s industrial production increases

Turkey’s industrial production increased by 2.6 percent in December, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released on Feb. 8.Industrial production increased by 2.6 percent compared with the same month last year, and 1.2 percent from the previous month.
Mining output rose by 3.2 percent in December from the previous month, but output from utilities decreased by 1.9 percent. Manufacturing indexes increased by 1.6 percent in December.
Industrial production decreased by 0.5 percent in the last quarter of 2014 compared with the previous quarter.
In the last quarter of 2014, mining output increased by 6.6 percent, while utilities were up 2.5 percent compared with the same quarter of 2013.
