Turkey’s industrial production growth at 18-month low

Turkey’s annual industrial production growth slowed to its lowest point in the last 18 months in November, official data revealed Jan. 8.“Calendar-adjusted industrial production increased by 0.7 percent compared with the same month last year,” the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) stated in a report.
This is the lowest performance by Turkish industry since May 2013.
Seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production saw a 0.1 percent decrease in November compared with the previous month.
Economists polled by Anadolu Agency saw 0.6 percent growth in Turkey’s November industrial production.
Among the main industrial groupings, the largest decline was observed in durable consumer goods, with a 2 percent drop compared to the previous month.
