Turkey's crude oil imports drop in first half of 2014

Turkey’s crude oil imports in the first six months of the year dropped to around 9.3 million tons, down 12 percent from the same period last year, while diesel imports rose by 12 percent to about 1.5 million tons, the Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has announced.According to EPDK’s July 2014 report, the total production of gasoline and diesel at refineries was around 957 tons, and the total production of oil products was 1.7 million tons in the first six months of the year.
During the same period, gasoline exports dropped by 25 percent, to about 1 million tons. The production of refineries fell to about 10 million tons in the first half of 2014, an 11 percent drop from the same period last year.
