Turkey signs train contract with Chinese

Turkey’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication has signed an agreement for joint production of subway trains for the Ankara Metro with China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation Limited (CSR). Transport Minister Binali Yıldırım said the deal would allow for the manufacturing of trains in Turkey.“We paved the way for producing the subway cars that will be carried by subway trains in Turkey. With today’s agreement, the world’s fastest-growing countries, Turkey and China, will enter a strategic partnership, that is, the manufacturing of these subway cars and multiple units for the Ankara Metro,” said Yıldırım. Yıldırım, Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Gong Xiaosheng and CSR’s Zheng Changhong attended the signing ceremony yesterday in Ankara.
