Turkey pays $9.1 bln debt

Turkey has repaid $9.11 billion in foreign debt since the beginning of 2012, according to Central Bank data revealed on Aug. 24.According to Bank’s weekly data, Turkey repaid $759.53 million in foreign debt between Aug. 1 and 23. The total debt repaid in same period by the Turkish Treasury alone was $258.34 million.
The country repaid a total of $12.8 billion in foreign debt in 2011.
The gross foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank decreased to $87.81 billion as of Aug. 17, it also said. The reserves were $87.85 billion on Aug. 10.
