Turkey economic confidence index slips in October

Turkey’s economic confidence index fell 8.4 percent month-on-month to 80.56 in October, official data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) revealed in a report on Oct. 27.This month-on-month decrease was driven by deteriorations in the real sector, services, retail trade, construction and confidence indices.
The real sector witnessed a 3.1 percent slide, while the services and retail trade confidence indices both followed with 1.8 percent declines.
The construction confidence index dropped 0.8 percent, while the consumer confidence suffered a slight fall to 0.3 percent to hit 74.04.
