Türk Telekom named most valuable brand

Akbank was named the second and İşbank the third most valuable brand.
Türk Telekom was again named the most valuable brand in Turkey, according to Brand Finance research.The telecommunications company received the crown with its $2.4 billion brand on the 100-company list published for the seventh time by the international brand assessment company Brand Finance.
The second and third spots on the “Most Valuable Brands of Turkey” list are held by two lenders: Akbank, ranked second with a $2.1 billion value, and İşbank in third with $2 billion.
Turkey’s flag carrier was named fourth with $1.8 billion. Another lender, Garanti, was named the fifth most valuable company with its $1.6 billion.
Eleven new brands entered this year, including Turkey’s top four sports clubs: Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor.
Akbank became the company that raised its brand value most in 2013 with a $539 million of added value from 2012 to 2013. İşbank followed Akbank with its rise of $492 million, while supermarket chain BİM ranked third with $426 million. The brand champion Türk Telkom ranked fourth, as its brand value surged $361 million.
Of the 89 brands that were on last year’s list, 71 have gained value while only 18 of them lost.
