Trump’s security advisor to hold talks in Ankara on Jan 8
ANKARA
U.S. President Donald Trump’s national security advisor John Bolton will hold talks with Turkish officials on the U.S.’s withdrawal from Syria in Ankara on Jan. 8, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Bolton will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s chief advisor, İbrahim Kalın, and other senior Turkish officials. This will mark a first in-person meeting between Turkish and American officials for the coordination of the withdrawal process of the American troops.
In the meantime, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo exchanged a phone conversation on Dec. 31.
