Trabzonspor signs Greek midfielder, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş complete deals

Veteran midfielder Avraam Papadopoulos set to become only the second Greek player to play in Turkey’s top-flight, after Theofanis Gekas.

Trabzonspor has landed three players, including Greek international Avraam Papadopoulos and Ghana starlet Abdul-Majeed Waris, while Galatasaray and Beşiktaş also completed deals on a busy transfer deadline day.

Already the busiest team during the off-season, Trabzonspor, bolstered its squad by signing three more players. Spartak Moscow’s Waris and Guingamp’s Moustapha Yatabare have bee signed to provide depth to Trabzonspor’s forward line, which is currently led by Oscar Cardozo.

Papadopoulos, however, could be the center of attention as well, with the veteran midfielder set to become only the second Greek player to play in Turkey’s top-flight, following Theofanis Gekas.
Trabzonspor has also released Argentinian midfielder Gustavo Colman on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, Beşiktaş completed the signing of midfielder Jose Ernesto Sosa from Metalist.

The Black Eagles released a statement confirming that they were set to complete a deal for the Argentinian midfielder, which is set to be worth around four million euros.

The 29-year-old spent the second part of last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and participated in the Rojiblancos’ title run in La Liga and finished runner-up in the UEFA Champions League.

Galatasaray also completed the singing of three players on deadline day, which will bolster the squad for the upcoming Champions League season.

Galatasaray signed Eskişehirspor’s Tarık Çamdal, along with Napoli duo Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili.

Right back Çamdal is likely to be a regular starter this season, seeing that the foreign player quota has been reduced to five players, while forward Pandev and midfielder Dzemaili are set to add depth and experience to the squad.

Galatasaray has also omitted right back Emmanuel Eboue from the team this season, leaving the Ivory Coast veteran to play with the reserve side.
