Toyota to increase capacity in Turkey

Toyota plans to manufacture a third model at its Adapazarı plant and increase production capacity to 300,000 vehicles, Karl Schlicht of Toyota Europe has said. The production of Corolla in Turkey will resume, but there will still be room to increase production, Schlicht said.

“We continue to manufacture the Verso model in Turkey. Yet, we are studying what we can additionally do at the plant as we have [unfilled] production capacity. We are preparing to manufacture a third model there.”

“We will terminate the production of our Auris model in Turkey phasing it out until autumn as the production of the new generation Auris will start in England as of October. While this model will leave its place to Corolla, we continue to work on manufacturing a third model,” he said.
