Top Turkish general visits patriot base in southern Turkey

Turkey’s Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel visited the patriot defense systems facility in the southern province of Adana today.Land Forces Commander Gen. Hayri Kıvrıkoğlu and Air Forces Commander Mehmet Erten accompanied Özel in his visit.
The top general also held inspections at some other military facilities in the province.
Three NATO allies – the United States, Germany and the Netherlands – each committed to sending two batteries and up to 400 soldiers to operate them after Ankara asked for help to bolster its air defenses against a possible missile attack from Syria. All six batteries are operational at the moment.
