Turkish Airlines will heavily invest in training pilots, especially female ones, in the coming period, with an aim of training 300 new pilots per year, Temel Kotil, the airliner’s general manager has said.Any university graduate with English language skills can apply to the national flag carrier’s pilot training program, Kotil said, adding that the cost of training a pilot is $100,000.
According to Kotil, few women apply for the program despite the career choice being one suited especially to them. “We would like to see this number increase. We want to train predominantly female pilots at the flying school in the Aydın Çıldır Airport,” he said.
