THY Q3 net income rises to $255 mln

The net income rose to YTL 412.4 million ($255 million), from YTL 104.9 million a year earlier, reported Bloomberg, citing the company statement filed with the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The carrier, whose sales rose 25 percent to YTL 1.8 billion, said passenger numbers rose 14.7 percent in the first 10 months of the year.Tüpraş, Turkey's biggest energy company also posed a profit increase for the same period. The firm’s third-quarter profit rose 18 percent after crude oil prices jumped to a record in the period. Net income advanced to YTL 427.3 million ($264 million) from YTL 362.4 million a year earlier, Tüpraş said last night in an income statement with the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Sales rose 55 percent to YTL 9.51 billion.
Revealing its financial data for the past nine months, Doğan Holding, which runs Turkey's largest chain of gas stations, revealed that its sales revenue for the period rose 30 percent from last year and reached YTL 9.7 million. The company’s operating profits also increased 98 percent to YTL 283 million.
Sabancı Holding, a Turkish company with interests in finance and energy, said its profit rose 18 percent during the first nine months of the year compared to the same period last year. Net income increased to YTL 1.01 billion ($630 million). The company had sales of YTL 14.8 billion in the period.
